Alexandra "Alex" Eala heads into Wimbledon, the final Grand Slam of the grass-court season, after an impressive grass-court swing.
Eala opened the swing by capturing the WTA 125 Birmingham Open title, claiming her second WTA 125 crown.
She then competed in the WTA 500 HSBC Championships at Queen's Club, where she reached the second round before falling to good friend Iva Jovic, 6-2, 6-2.
Eala bounced back at the Berlin Tennis Open, where she notched victories over two top-10 players.
She opened her campaign with a 6-5, 6-4 win over Queen's Club champion Donna Vekic before upsetting world No. 2 Elena Rybakina, 7-5, 6-4, and world No. 6 Elina Svitolina, 6-3, 6-4, to reach the semifinals.
Her run ended in the last four with a 6-2, 6-4 loss to world No. 8 Linda Noskova.
Eala then competed at the Bad Homburg Open, where she suffered a first-round loss to Elise Mertens, 6-3, 6-3. In doubles, however, she and Venus Williams advanced to the quarterfinals before losing to Olivia Nicholls and Tereza Mihalikova, 6-3, 6-2.
At Wimbledon, Eala will open her campaign against Mexico's Renata Zarazua.
